Consultations for Cosmetic Aesthetics
Cosmetic Aesthetics
A thorough consultation is the foundation of safe and ethical non-surgical enhancement.
In accordance with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) guidelines, every consultation prioritises patient safety, informed consent, and clinical suitability over cosmetic expectations.
Your consultation will include a detailed discussion of your goals, medical history, and suitability for treatment, ensuring the procedure is both safe and appropriate for your needs.
Regulatory Context:
AHPRA Guidelines
- All cosmetic medical procedures involving Schedule 4 (prescription-only) substances, such as dermal fillers, require a prior consultation with a prescribing medical practitioner (doctor or nurse practitioner).
- The consultation must be conducted in person or via real-time video consultation.
- Written consent must be obtained before any treatment begins.
Regulatory Context: TGA and Queensland Health Requirement
- The prescriber ensures the patient is clinically suitable, and that all contraindications and risks are clearly explained before treatment proceeds.
